1. Cycle to Loch an Eilein

Voted the best picnic site in the whole of the UK, the breathtaking Loch an Eilein is situated on the Rothiemurchus Estate, not far from the hotel—around three miles south of Aviemore. 

Meaning 'Loch of the Island’, Loch an Eilein is renowned as a former hideaway of Rob Roy MacGregor and other hordes of cattle rustlers in the 18th and 19th centuries.

2. Visit Landmark Forest Adventure Park

If you're looking for an adventure-filled day out for the kids, Landmark Forest Adventure Park at Carrbridge in Inverness-shire is just the ticket. Consistently voted one of Scotland’s favourite kids’ leisure destinations, the park offers a host of activities including rock climbing, ‘skydiving’ and flume riding.

3. Take a trip up the Cairngorm Funicular

Enjoy some of Scotland's greatest views by taking the Funicular up to the top of Cairngorm Mountain. It's truly spectacular!

Cairngorm Mountain is where you'll find the UK's highest funicular railway and outdoor activities such as guided walking and mountain biking. Once you reach the top, lunch at Ptarmigan Restaurant is a must!

4. Check out the Rothiemuchus Estate

Discover stunning scenery and a huge range of outdoor activities at The Rothiemurchus estate.

Rothiemurchus stretches from the River Spey to the summit of Braeriach, Britain's third highest mountain at over 4,000 feet. In between is one of the largest remaining areas of Ancient Caledonian Forest.

These habitats provide a home for many rare species, including Capercaillie, Pine Marten and the dainty Twinflower.

The Strathspey Steam Railway runs from nearby Aviemore Station and is always popular with families.

6. Visit Loch Morlich

A breathtaking fresh water loch, surrounded by award-winning sandy beaches, Loch Morlich is a popular destination for visitors to Hilton Coylumbridge.

It's the perfect place to enjoy a loch-side stroll and take in the scenery or try your hand at watersports activities including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking.

It's also a lovely short cycle or walk from the hotel through the surrounding forest.

7. Adventure through the Highland Wildlife Park

9. Learn to Ski

If you’re in Aviemore, trying your hand at snowsports is a must. Even when it's not winter you can visit fantastic nearby dry ski slopes. For the little ones there's also grass sledging close to the hotel which is fantastic fun!
