Family Picnic at Loch an Eilein
Voted ‘Britain’s best picnic spot’ in 2010, Loch an Eilein, with its 13th-century castle in the centre of the loch, is a wonderful setting the whole family can enjoy. After tucking into your sandwiches, explore the surrounding woodlands and you might catch a glimpse of some red squirrels and Scottish crossbills.
Cycling Around Aviemore
Kids bored? On your bike! You’ll find plenty of cycle paths around Aviemore well suited to families who want to keep off the road. Pick up a free copy of the Rotheimurchus Bike Map, which points out ancient battle sites and flora and fauna along your route.
Highland Folk Museum
