Mv festival coming to the cairngorms
We’re all very excited here at Hilton Coylumbridge hotel in Aviemore about the upcoming MV Festival. MV stands for Mountain Valley, and the festival is a real original, as it combines a mixture of comedy. music and snow sports in the Cairngorm National Park, with many of the events held at Hilton Coylumbridge the hotel near Aviemore. And best of all, all proceeds go to charity.
We are proud to announce that this year’s charities are CHAS, (Children’s Hospice Accommodation Scotland) and Disability Snowsport UK.
The music strand features a mix of top names and rising stars. We hope to be dancing in the moonlight at Hilton Coylumbridge to Toploader, who are headlining on Saturday night. Another musical legend playing is Dave 9Bucket’ Colwell, famed for his work as lead guitarist with 70s rock band Bad Company. These big names will be in good company with such rising stars as Katie Sutherland - the amazing Scottish singer formerly known as Pearl and the Puppets, and folk pop band Brown Bear and the Bandits.
For the whole weekend Hilton Coylumbridge turns into a comedy venue. Last year Frankie Boyle brought the house down; this year Andrew Maxwell, the Irish-born 2011 Foster Award nominee, could match him in outrage. He will be joined by such top comics as Terry Alderton, Phil Nichol, and Colin Campbell.
The MV Festival also extends to the great outdoors, with a range of events held on Cairngorm Mountain. Test your skiing skills while DJs play, with spot prizes given out for stunts on the piste. You don’t need to be a top skier to take part; all abilities are welcome, and eligible for prizes!
MV Festival is a truly unique Highland celebration of music, comedy and sport, and we look forward to welcoming you.
The MV Festival runs from Friday 1st March until Sunday 3rd March.
