Aviemore attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year because of the abundance of activities for people of all ages.  The beautiful scenery demands that you spend time outdoors, and luckily, no matter what time of year you’re visiting, there’s no shortage of things to do.

For groups of men looking to celebrate a stag do or guys’ trip, you have your choice of snow, water, and land sports. We’ve rounded up some of the best Aviemore has to offer to help you plan your trip.

Combining the best views of the Scottish Highlands with a rush of adrenaline, the 2km course of zip wires gives you a two-hour trip past the Scot’s pines. Although family friendly, the Zip Trek Adventure Park also offers special sessions for stag groups.

Voted one of the best golf courses in Scotland, the Spey Valley Golf Course features stunning views of the Cairngorm Mountains, the chance to spot unique wildlife, and twelve 9 and 18-hole courses to choose from. You’ll also have the chance to test your skills at the longest hole in Scotland (at 635 yards!).

If you want to ski, snowboard, or sledge down the Cairngorm Mountain, there are a number of different snow sports business that you can hire equipment or buy lessons from. For a full list, check out this resource.

Whether you’re a total beginner or mountaineering expert, Glenmore Lodge offers a full range of mountaineering activities. In the summer, learn navigation skills for your walks, go scrambling, or simply learn how to rock climb. Every step up the mountain gives you an even more beautiful view of the surrounding area. The mountaineering courses are also available in winter, and you can even take an avalanche course!

If you would like an alternative to adrenaline filled mountain activities, why not check out the walking paths of Cairngorm National Park. Named by National Geographic as one of '50 must visit Places on Earth', the incredible mountain range, wildlife, and rivers provide a beautiful backdrop for leisurely walks throughout the park. Of course, if you are an adrenaline junkie, there’s also kayaking and the only permanent bridge based bungee jump in the UK to satisfy your needs.

With the Full On Adventure bike tours, you can follow guides on novice or expert paths through ancient forests and gorgeous glens.  By taking advantage of their local knowledge, you’ll see parts of Aviemore (and Scotland) that you never knew existed! You can also tailor the tours to your needs, whether you desire a leisurely cycle on easy paths or a more demanding technical trail ride.

White water rafting tends to be a stag do favourite, as the prime location in Aviemore allows access to the Findhorn – one of the best white water rivers in Britain!  Offering bespoke or six-hour tours, G2 Outdoor provides wetsuits, splash suits, safety equipment, and even a packed lunch.

If you’re planning your trip in advance, here are some upcoming events you won’t want to miss.

For snowboarding aficionados, the Scottish Slopestyle Championships hit Cairngorm Mountain on the 14th of March, or check out the Ptarmigan Slopestyle on April 4th.

For the golf lover, the European tour is coming to Spey Valley Golf Course in June.  Watch the best players in Europe compete in the Hydro Challenge on June 25-28th.

If you’re a motorcyclist, hop on your Harley for the ‘Thunder in the Glens” Harley Davidson Motorcycle Rally. It’s the largest motorcycle rally in the UK, and it comes to Aviemore on August 28th-31st.
