Easter Weekend Activities in Aviemore

Posted by Maria Mangion, March, 2018

Easter couldn’t have fallen on a better date this year. This most joyful of holidays is traditionally linked to the start of springtime and all things nice: longer days, time off from school and work, chocolate treats, the rebirth of nature after the frozen harshness of winter.

Having been blessed with a generous helping of snowfall this winter, Aviemore is remaining picturesque and kid-friendly for your family to enjoy Easter to the full. Take a look at what you and your little critters can get up to whilst here.

Snow & Sun…

Skiing, Snowboarding and Sledging

CairnGorm Mountain has been having a fantastic year leading snow fans of all ages to master new sports. With a dedicated training school, the UK’s highest funicular railway and ski runs to suit all proficiency levels, everyone has a perfect activity cut out for them. At just £36 for grown-ups and £22 for the wee ones, a day pass includes all you need for building your skills on the snow.

If you’re after cheaper access to a similar thrill, sledging can be done for as little as £6 per day. Set your playful soul free with your loved ones and whizz through our white playground for the price of a sandwich.

Spectacular as ever, Cairngorms National Park never charges you any money for joining into its infinite variety of activities. Your Easter weekend can be as diverse as climbing one of the 55 Munros situated within the park or cycling through Rothiemurcus Forest and picnicking with native badger and deer prancing across your view.

Food & Fun…

Rothiemurcus Easter Egg Hunt

Who doesn’t love a bit of Easter egg frolicking? Rothiemurcus is hosting an Easter egg hunt on Sunday 1st April. Starting at 10.30am and 2pm, you get to explore the enchanting grounds of this estate while collecting yummy treats.

How about organising your own egg-rolling contest in the Highlands too? Spend a happy hour decorating Easter eggs and bring them over to our playground from home.

Easter Bear Hunt

Something that will truly ignite your kids’ spirit, the Aviemore Easter Bear Hunt is taking place at Glenmore Visitor Centre this year. Join Glen Bear – newly awakened from his winter hibernation – on a tender search for cuddly companions. Remember to bring your teddies! The hunt starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm on Easter Sunday, and these 6 hours of wonder can be yours for £2 per activity pack.

With so much to do and so little time left to take advantage of our Book Early Offer, reserve your stay today. You’ll save up to 20% when booking your accommodation at Hilton Coylumbridge 15 days in advance. Make it an Easter to treasure forever!
